Railway infrastructure data content will be reduced
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency has decided to restrict the distribution of certain railway network infrastructure data as open data. These data types, now classified as non-public, will be removed from Digitraffic by the end of 2026.
Data types being fully removed

- Balises
- Separators
- Separation sections
- Separation fields
- Hotbox detectors
- Reverse buttons
- Turntables
- Heating stations
- Groundings
- Signals
- Local point operation groups
- Stopping devices
- Wheel force indicators
- Rail insulations
- Derailers
- RFID readers
- Section insulators
- Electrical work insulators
- Switch heating transformers
- Pantograph monitoring cameras
Data types with reduced content
Switches:
- Information about electric switch operation will be removed
- Information about permitted speed on diverging track will be removed
Tracks:
- Information about track inflection points (vertical geometry) will be removed
- Information about track usage purpose will be removed
